My Testimony

I was invited to this prayer meeting at a home by some co-workers, and my soon to be Pastor. I went only because my friends were going...after all I didn't need Jesus...I was 26 at the time. I got pregnant when I was 16, got married, divorced at 19, got pregnant again at 24, didn't get married, and well...what's wrong with that anyway? my life was pretty exciting..So I went to go and see what this whole Jesus thing was about even though I knew it wasn't anything that I needed. So I went. My Pastor sat down with me and started speaking to me about the goodness of God, and the purpose of Jesus dying on the cross for my sins (what sins). As he continued to speak, I just sat there and listened, accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour that day. I said the prayer...nothing happened, nothing superspiritual anyway, until I got home went to sleep and was awakened by a very powerful presence in my room. I can't explain what happened to me that night, only that something inside me came alive, my spirit recognized him. I knew then that I couldn't deny that he was real. There wasn't anything in my life that could ever compare to this. Not partying, not people not anything. Ever since that day I have not found any kind of fullfillment, excitement, or anything else that could ever take his place. I'm at peace now I feel well rested with him. I know that life isn't perfect, and unbearable things may come my way, but one thing I know, is he will never leave my side, and that's enough for me. Which reminds me of this song that says "though my world may fall I'll never let you go....Jesus lover of my soul".

As far as anything else about me, I'm not anything that's important nor is there anything special about me. Which reminds me of this other song that says " the only thing that's good in me is Jesus." Ain't that the truth. So if you want to know anything else about me well I'm a child of the Risen King. It's a privelidge to say that he exists in my life. You know the plan of salvation is free, but not cheap. It's priceless, but most of all not religion, not a ritual, not routine, and certainly not about a God that only lives in the sky, and you call him when you need something because he is at your disposal...(let's not get tangled up in self-deception.) In any case....I was talking about me I think...well I like that he waits for me in the morning until I get up to talk to him. He's there when I'm sleeping, he even wakes me up sometimes just to let me know that he is there, or to pray for someone that he is concerned about. It's an honor to be awaken by him to pray for someone. That tells me that he has confidence in me, and that I do have power through prayer. Hope that sums up who I am right now...next week I may change all of the above because I will be more like my heavenly father The King Of Glory. But today this is just me.
Please e-mail me. I would love to hear your story about why you believe what you believe. I don't know anything else about what people believe really. I met Jesus, and had no desire to check anything else out. I'd be interested in hearing what you believe and why, and your experiences with what you believe and what it has done for you. After all you have to believe something. God Bless....

Meet Jesus Today

My Thought:

You know the whole world knows that Jesus died on a cross. What they fail to think about is that he endured the cross. In the book of Isaiah I think it's chapter 52, It says that he was beaten beyond recognition. You could not even tell what was hanging on that cross. All of this he did for us and sometimes we don't even acknowledge him during our day.....

This is a portion of what Jesus said on the cross.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing. But you, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me.

All of us have messed up in life. We have done things we are not proud of. Those things are called sin. All of us have sinned. No one person is better than another in God's eyes. Because of our sin, we are separated from God, who is holy and will not tolerate sin of any kind. Sin is what keeps people from getting to Heaven. God's holiness requires that sin be punished.

"For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Even though God detests sin, He absolutely loves his prized creation: You! There's nothing you can do that will ever make God love you more or less. Yes, God hates sin, but He values you more than anything. He loves you just like you are!

"God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Now we've got a problem. If God values you so much, and hates sin so much, how can He allow someone who has sin into His presence? It's true, He was faced with an ultimate dilemma. He chose to give the ultimate gift to you: Himself. God came to Earth as a man: Jesus. Jesus lived a perfect life. He never once did anything wrong. But he lived like you and I do. Jesus eventually was crucified on a Roman cross. People have speculated why He did such a thing for thousands of years. But there's only one reason: Remember when you read that God must punish sin? Well, guess what? He chose to be punished for us. God literally will do anything to be with you. That's real love. He chose to be punished and die a horrible death all because He values you so much! But then, three days later, he did not stay dead but came back to life to prove He was truly the King of Kings!

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23-24

"For God so loved the world, He gave His only son, so whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

Now that you know what it cost God to love you like he does: Won't you give your life to Him and make Him the "Boss" of your life? You can know right now where you will spend eternity when your body dies.

Why not take this moment to talk with God and make Him the boss?

Say something like this:
"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. But I also know that you love me very much. I know that you came to Earth and were punished for my sin because you love me so much. I also know that you rose back to life three days after you died. Thank you for loving me that much. Because you gave your life for me, I'm going to give my life to you. I make you the "boss." I make you my lord. I'm sorry for the wrong things I've done in my life. I know you will forgive me for those sins. Help me to go and live a new life. Thank you for changing me and making me a new person. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God has raised Him up from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

If you meant those words when you talked with God, you are a new Christian! Welcome to the family!

Now, there are 4 ways you can grow as a Christian:

- Find a Bible you can understand and read it every day.
- Find time to spend with God every day and just talk with Him.
- Get involved in a Bible-believing church near you and hang with other Christians.
- Tell other people about what God did for you.

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone and the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

FINAL NOTE:

If you prayed this prayer, please contact me or someone that you know is saved, that we may help you grow in the Lord, and provide you with a bible so that you may begin your walk with Jesus.
